Welcome to Restoring Union Beach Memories. On October 29. 2012 Superstorm Sandy devastated our little town. In her wake she leveled more than sixty homes and damaged over 250 homes. On October 30th, photos were scattered among the ruins, in the gutters, and in the wetlands, this project mission is to reunite families with their photos.
The project was started by Jeannette and Allie VanHouten, but has branched to include members of the community. To date over 10,000 photos have been scanned,but it is estimated that close to 25,000 will be scanned.

The images before you are photos and memories that belong to the individual families that took the photos. ALL COPYRIGHT PERMISSION stays with the family. Until they come to claim their photo I am the KEEPER of the photos. They are my physical property. As soon as the family comes forward the ownership is transferred back.
Professionals DO NOT have the right to use these photos without the WRITTEN CONSENT of the owner.
These photos will be removed from this site as person(s) feel their need is greater than the families heartache.
